What to Expect (and NOT to expect) from a Psychic/Medium

Published May 1, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

I received a comment regarding a previous post of mine and it brought up an interesting point I’d like to share with you.  In case you haven’t read the comment – it dealt with the fact that it would be nice if I could see an award in actor Richard Chamberlain’s future, much the same as I’d seen in the future for actor/singer Hugh Jackman, I assume.

So in answer to that comment, and to perhaps help some of you understand what psychics or psychic/mediums can and cannot do, I’ll respond:

First – yes, it would be nice if I could predict a major award ahead for Richard Chamberlain in his upcoming appearance at the famed Pasadena Playhouse.  I think he’s a very fine actor and I’m sure the production will be well-received.  But — this information is not something I am picking up psychically.  A psychic cannot or SHOULD NOT tell you something just because you would like to hear it.  Psychics must tell the truth about what messages they are receiving.

Also, psychics or psychic/mediums cannot tell you when someone is going to pass away.  That is the Master’s job, or a higher force’s job, and even those higher forces are subject to change.  We can offer warnings to you about your own health or that of a loved one, but primarily in the sense of suggesting that a doctor should be seen, or certain tests taken.  We do not prescribe medicine.

Psychics also cannot or should not offer gambling advice.  I have always felt that in addition to bringing through your loved ones in spirit,  my gift is to help people with their career, love life or business decisions.  I can offer financial advice in those terms – telling you dates or names that might help you make good business or career moves.  But gambling is not something I will deal with because I feel my gifts could be taken from me if I were to dabble in something that unimportant.

Psychics or mediums are also not there for you simply to answer your questions.  The way that I conduct my readings is to tell you what I’m picking up from spirit voices or images and then following that if I have not already touched upon an area you wanted to discuss, there is always time for you to ask any questions.

I would also advise you to beware of any psychic who professes to be 100% accurate.  We are human, and can always leave room for misinterpretation of a message. One case might be that a spirit might speak very softly, or with an accent, which could cause slight confusion.  Having said that, my accuracy has always been stated at 92%, which I consider to be very high.

Lastly — once a psychic has given you information and made suggestions on what direction to take in your life, the rest is up to you.  It makes no sense to just sit back and wait for a prediction to come true – you must help MAKE it come true.  No one will come knocking on your door to offer you their hand in marriage, or to offer you a job.  You must make an effort to meet new people and make your wants and desires known, either in business or pleasure.

We as psychics can provide you with a roadmap of life, so to speak.  Then you as our clients are in the driver’s seat to follow that roadmap and make the most of your life.

Richard Chamberlain to appear in “The Heiress”

I had a nice chat with talented actor Richard Chamberlain at a party, and I wanted to share the photo with you.    I’m sure many of you have enjoyed him throughout the years, from “Dr. Kildare” to “The Thorn Birds” to “Desperate Housewives”.  He appeared onstage here in Los Angeles in “The Sound of Music” and will be appearing at the legendary Pasadena Playhouse in a production of “The Heiress” through May 20, 2012.  It promises to be a fascinating night of theatre and I encourage you to attend if you can.  For information on the play, contact www.pasadenaplayhouse.org.

Awards in Hugh Jackman’s Future

Published April 21, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

I had the pleasure of spending some time backstage with multi-talented Hugh Jackman when he appeared on Broadway  a  few  years ago in “The Boy from Oz.” As many of you know, this was the story of singer/songwriter Peter Allen’s life.  I had done some television appearances with Peter Allen in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and had unofficially been his psychic advisor.

During Hugh’s performance, I saw Peter Allen in spirit onstage with Hugh and knew that I had to go backstage afterwards to tell him about the spirit appearance and the message I received from Peter.

We had a wonderful chat (see photo) and I told Hugh – before the Tony nominations – that he would win the coveted Tony for his performance.  Happily, he did so.

I’ve recently seen some advance photos from the new film he’s making – the musical version of the popular “Les Miserables.”  Hugh – get an acceptance speech ready because I see more awards in your future after the film debuts!

FRIDAY THE 13TH

Published April 12, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

Friday the 13th…knocking on wood…black cats…spilling salt.  Do these and other superstitions have you feeling uneasy – or at the very least, curious?

I thought I’d stop by here to share a few words with you about some of the most popular superstitions. For example – do you know where the negativity surrounding Friday the 13th originated?  It began in Biblical times.  There were 13 seated at the Last Supper.  It was believed that when 13 were at a table, the first to leave the table would be the first to pass away.  Judas left first…and was the first to pass away.  The Crucifixion was held on a Friday.  So, putting the two together, Friday the 13th came to hold negative connotations.

And what about knocking on wood?  How many times have you said, “I think I got the job I applied for…knock on wood.”  In ancient Celtic times, it was believed that the spirits lived in trees.  Trees translate to wood – therefore, if you knocked on wood (in those days, trees), you would get the attention of the spirits when you were mentioning something that you wanted to have happen (or something that you wanted to avoid happening).

We’ve all heard about the supposed negative energy caused by a black cat crossing our path.  Again in ancient times, black cats were associated with being the companions of witches, and therefore supposedly were capable of causing evil things to happen.

Have you ever spilled salt and then tossed some over your left shoulder?  Do you know why you did it?  It was once beleived that the Devil lurked over our left shoulder, waiting to cause harm.  Salt is associated with the life force.  If you spilled salt (your life force) you were risking harm coming to you…but if you threw the salt over your left shoulder, you’d hit the Devil in the eye and he would be unable to focus on harming you!

I find these superstitions fun and amusing.  But in each case (including Friday the 13th), I prefer to not take them seriously.  I’ve had very good things happen to me on Friday the 13th.  To me, it’s all in the way we perceive things.  If we expect negativity — ANY day of the month or year — we attract it to us.  Instead, expect good, positive things, and you can overcome any supposed “evil.”

Greta Garbo’s Spirit Suggests Charlize Theron to Play Her

Published April 8, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

The Saturday night before Easter, five of us gathered at my table in my reading room. We had a red candle burning and held a seance, primarily because I’d been hearing whispers in my ear for a few days prior to Saturday and the voice belonged to my client and friend, legendary and reclusive actress Greta Garbo.  I knew that Garbo must have a message to relay and that a  seance would be the best way to receive more detailed information.

The first person to arrive in spirit was Garbo’s great friend (and mine), famed nutritionist and constant companion Gayelord Hauser. We greeted his spirit and he said, “I am so happy to be here and I am bringing you our dear friend, who passed away many years ago on Easter. Kenny – you should know who I am talking about since you knew her well as her psychic/medium. Here she is – the Magnificent Garbo.”

She arrived dressed all in blue and looked beautiful. She said, “Thank you all.  I am so pleased to be here.  I came particularly because many years ago tomorrow (Easter) I passed to the spirit world. I would like to be remembered and I have been wanting to tell you that I would like Charlize Theron to play me in a film based on my life.  She has the charisma that everyone said I had.  Thank you for welcoming Gaylelord and myself so warmly.”

With this, they returned to the Heavens.  And I am sharing this message in hopes that Ms. Theron might consider pursuing such a project.

Developing Your Psychic Ability

Published April 1, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

How many of you feel you may have psychic ability?  Do you hear noises or see things out of the corner of your eye? Have you ever felt that something was going to happen…and it did? I received a couple of questions on my Facebook page from a woman named Lisa and it seemed like a good idea to answer them here – since hopefully many of you can relate to the topic.

Lisa asked how I receive my messages. She wanted to know what I see or hear.  And she said she hears a high-pitched sound now and then when people are talking to her or about her and she wonders if this could be clairaudience.

Let me explain what the art of clairaudio is.  It’s the ability to hear a spirit voice, either by itself or on top of another person’s voice.  For example, when I’m giving psychic readings over the telephone or on radio shows, I may be talking to a person here on Earthplane, but in addition I may hear a spirit say, “Tell her to be careful next Tuesday around the steps of a building where she has a meeting planned.”  Sometimes I don’t hear full sentences and there will only be key words or a name. But a psychic/medium such as myself is tuned in enough to interpret what is being said.

As many of you know, I was born psychic.  When I was very young, a good friend of my mother’s was legendary actress Mae West.  Mae was very psychic herself and wrote her plays and screenplays while in trance.  She encouraged me to develop my abilities with clairaudio and would often call to speak to my mother but first ask me a question and tell me to give the first answer that came into my head.

When I give messages pertaining to things I am seeing, it may be a symbol such as a bridge, or a broken engagement ring. Or I may see the face of someone, often surrounded by a mist which we call ectoplasm.

To answer Lisa’s question – yes, it could very well be possible that the high-pitched sound she hears is a spirit voice trying to get through. Spirits vibrate on different frequencies from those on Earthplane, which is why they often attach themselves to electronic devices such as lights, televisions, etc. to gain energy.

Lisa — you may have the beginning of psychic ability and it could be well worth your while to develop it.You might sit with a red, non-scented, dinner-style candle for 5 minutes at a time and ask that a spirit guide or loved one come in and make their voice heard.

I feel that people can’t create psychic ability if they don’t have it to begin with.  We are either born with the potential or not.  But if we ARE born with it, it can be fine-tuned and developed.  I might suggest that you visit my web site, where I offer pamphlets on developing your ability, since there is only so much I can say about the subject here.  If you go to www.kennykingston.org/products.html you should be able to get the information you need. Pamphlet #1 is an introduction to developing your ability and Pamphlet #2 takes the development one step further.

Just Read “That Woman”

Published March 22, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

Image       I just finished reading That Woman, the new book by author, Reuters journalist and lecturer Anne Sebba. The title refers to the term often used by the then-Queen and others in the British Royal circle to describe my client Wallis Simpson, who went on to become the Duchess of Windsor.

Did I enjoy the book?  Not really.  In fairness, it’s wonderfully researched, I’m sure.  And for history buffs it’s no doubt a delight because great detail has gone in to describing the people and places involved in the story. It relies heavily on letters and documents of the time, many of which have just recently been made available.

The book is a study of Wallis Simpson beginning with her early years and following through to her meeting and eventually marrying the former King Edward VIII after he abdicated the throne for her, feeling he could not fulfill his duties without her by his side.

But I feel that the book, for all its historical detail, lacks the romance and excitement that was part of their lives, at least during times that I knew them. In particular, I was shocked to find that only one page had been devoted to famed partygiver Elsa Maxwell, and then no mention was made of her full relationship with the couple.

In reality, I met the Duke and Duchess through Elsa.  She introduced me to them because she said the Duchess loved “fortunetellers”, as she called psychics in those days.  The Duke tolerated me and was often rushing off to a golf game but would say “hello” and then seem very pleased that I was giving a reading to his wife because he saw the pleasure it brought her.

During the years that I gave readings on and off to the Duchess and spoke to Elsa Maxwell, Elsa told me that she acted as a “broker” for the couple, arranging a hefty fee for them to appear at parties.  Elsa would then take a percentage of the fee they were given.  Sometimes the fee would be $15,000 she told me; sometimes it would be in the neighborhood of $25,000.

Elsa was very much a part of their lives.  And whether they were paid for attending or not, they did enjoy themselves.  That Woman paints a picture of a constant struggle throughout their lives.  I’m sure that they did struggle and I can verify, as mentioned in the book, that the Duke insisted on everyone in their environment referring to the Duchess as “Her Royal Highness”, even though she’d been denied the title by the Queen.

I found them to be a very loving couple – he perhaps was more in love with her than she with him – or it may have been that she was just the stronger and more businesslike person and he acted more with his emotions.

I wish I could recommend the book completely.  It may offer a couple of new and rather scandalous theories on their sexual lives, but otherwise to me it lacks the warm feeling I’d have liked to find.

My Favorite Mystery Author MARY HIGGINS CLARK

Published March 18, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

ImageI recently received a lovely letter from my favorite mystery writer Mary Higgins Clark.  We met at a luncheon through a mutual friend. I’m including a photo in this post.  She is so warm and wonderful, it’s no wonder her books sell so well.

I’m always delighted that Mary includes psychics in the plot of many of her novels, and wonder if that will be the case in her new book, The Lost Years (see link below) in light of the fact that it has to do with the Roman Catholic Church?  I can’t wait to read it.

I’m also hoping to make it out to the USC Campus here in Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Times Book Festival the end of April.  Mary is there nearly every year and it would be wonderful to see her again.  Here’s hoping many of her fans will have a chance to meet her there.

Looking for Love? Burn a Yellow Candle

Published March 12, 2012 by valerietalksbooks

A client of mine came to see me recently about problems in her marriage.  I reminded her about the meditation method I’ve recommended for years…and thought maybe it would be helpful to share it with you on this page. The meditation method is simple and doesn’t require you to sit in a hard chair for a long period of time.  And the colors of candles I recommend using are for visualization purposes.  The colors were given to me by my spirit guides during my own meditation session one day.

For love — either to improve an existing relationship or to find a new love — I recommend burning a yellow candle.  All of the candles should be tall, dinner-style candles — non-scented.  Just place the candle in a simple holder – you don’t want any distractions from your visualization.

If you are in a relationship (as my client is) but want it to either continue or improve, while you’re burning the candle, visualize the relationship as you’d like it to be.  Believe that this improvement has already begun.  See less fights — more understanding — more tenderness — whatever you desire.

If you’re looking for a lasting relationship, while the candle is burning, visualize yourself happy in a love situation.  Repeat, “The love that I seek, seeks me.”  Ask for love to enter your life — a love that is right for you.  Again, believe that you are already in a happy and committed relationship. Ask your spirit guides and loved ones to help you with your love situation.

I suggest only burning the candle for 5 minutes at a time because your spirits can then get busy and work for you.  You can feel free to burn the candle again at another time…or burn it at the same time the next day.  Please do NOT leave the candle burning for unlimited periods of time, because the power comes in the short amount of time, but full concentration, that you can give to it.

When you have completed your meditation/visualization, blow out the candle and get as much smoke as you can in the palms of your hands.  This makes your connection with the candle complete.  Then try to release your situation to the higher forces and know that you have done your part in helping yourself.

For a full list of my candles or the meditation technique, you can find it in my book I STILL TALK TO… (I’ve placed a link at this blog) or at my web site, www.kennykingston.org.  At the site, you’ll find a section about ordering pamphlets — there is one available for meditation.  You can also order a meditation stone from me at the web site, and specify your problem – whether it’s love or finances or career, etc.  For the cost of postage and handling only, I’ll send you the appropriate stone that has been blessed by me.  The stone can be used with the candle meditation or in place of it so that you can carry it with you, keep it in your desk drawer, etc.

My book that includes Marilyn Monroe

My book that includes Marilyn Monroe

I’ve received a couple of personal messages on Facebook from people who wonder if I’ve written more about Marilyn Monroe and my association with her.  Actually I’ve been featured in several books about Marilyn…but I included an entire chapter about her in my book I STILL TALK TO…, and the link is here. Lots of info about when we spent time together and a spirit contact with her following her passing.  <iframe src=”http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=wwwwordpre0f6-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=0929765796&IS1=1&ref=tf_til&fc1=000000&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr” style=”width:120px;height:240px;” scrolling=”no” marginwidth=”0″ marginheight=”0″ frameborder=”0″></iframe>
